can someone explain homecoming ?

So ik what homecoming is but I don’t know it was a thing in college . I’m not in Greek life but I heard someone mentioning it that he were pairing with some sorority for homecoming . I’m just curious to know how it works in frats and sorority and when it happens . Thanks

you pair with a fraternity for a week, there's a ton of tailgates, and a lot of alumni come visit
