sorority rush advice?

I rushed last year. I didn't get that many houses back and the one I was set on dropped me. Then, I dropped. This was a mistake, obviously lol so I want to try again.
I feel like my convos were pretty standard and the girls seemed to like me. I dress decently and my grades are fine. I am from out of state and knew almost no one in any sorority. Luckily, I have a lot of friends that got into houses which should make recruitment a little easier for me next year.
Basically I feel like maybe I did something wrong but I don't know what that thing is. Any ideas?

rush isn’t totally fair , sometimes really nice normal pretty girls get dropped from a lot of places because of how every sorority has different criteria and system

You have to be open minded and not just give up this is why so many people end up as geeds so many girls can’t even rush cause of their gpa you should just be lucky that you can and stick with it

If you didn't get many houses back after round 1 then I would say one of two things. Either your GPA is not strong that they saw you as a GPA risk or the more likely issue was that your conversations weren't as good as you think.
Rush is like speed dating, you only have a few minutes to make an impression and if your conversations were just average then that is not enough when other girls conversations were more memorable.
Focus on your conversational skills. I wouldn't count on having friends in a house, they are only one voice out of many. Hoping that one friend is going to get you all the way through will most likely not work.

I think the best thing you can do now is try to talk and stay close with your friends who are now in houses until rush, this should hopefully help you out and maybe they can pull some strings for you. As for your conversations I know it’s hard buy try to open up and be yourself so they can really see who you are. And most importantly if you get only a few houses back again I’d say give one of them a shot. It might not be the one you pictured but you never know. Good luck.

Ok but I didn't get that many back either which gives me the idea that I wasn't coming off as appealing
