just so you know...

I’m from Boston and went to IU freshman year, and I transferred back to a school that was a better fit for my career goals, though I loved almost every single thing about Bloomington and IU.
BUT I can’t help but say that the way I heard people obsess over houses and degrade others based on the letters they wore was one of the most immature and appalling things about IU. On the east coast Greek life was a very minor part of people’s college experience if at all, so it was never part of my plan at IU. once I got here i couldn’t believe the sweeping statements I’d hear people make about people they didn’t know just based on their chapter. This website brings out the absolute worst of IU Greek life, though from the perspective of someone who didn’t grow up around those that were familiar with the Greek system at a big midwestern school, it’s not much better in person.
Just keep in mind that this isn’t what the world is like. Seriously, nowhere on earth will you go through a process this judgmental and insulting and vapid. Don’t let it reduce you to a nasty person like it has for so many. Be adults. Be kind.

Ha I know, Greek life literally doesn’t matter after college and into adulthood. I mean the friendships that you make matter, yes, but I’m saying the tiers and the parties and all of that junk DO NOT MATTER. Stop getting your panties in a wad when you have so much more life to live!! Travel, study abroad, find a great internship. So much more to college than partying and looks..
