Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott - ERAUP Overview

  About Greek Life at ERAUP

Prescott, Arizona isn't exactly a huge college town, and Embry-Riddle's campus up there reflects that — it's a tight-knit, technically focused school where aviation, engineering, and flight operations dominate the conversation. The Greek system fits that same mold: it's smaller and more intimate than what you'd find at a big state school, but it's got real presence for a campus of this size.

There are several IFC fraternities active on campus, including Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Tau Gamma, Theta Xi, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Sigma Chi. On the Panhellenic side, Alpha Sigma Tau and Alpha Xi Delta both have chapters here. That's a solid mix of national organizations for a school that skews heavily STEM and has a student body that's predominantly male — which makes the Panhellenic presence worth noting.

Recruitment at Prescott ERAU tends to be more low-key than what you'd see at a large public university. There's no massive Greek Row with chapter houses lining a boulevard. Most chapters operate without dedicated housing, so the social experience is built around events, philanthropy, and brotherhood or sisterhood rather than the live-in house culture you'd find elsewhere.

Because the school itself is so technically oriented, Greek organizations here often double down on service and professional development alongside the standard social programming. Philanthropy involvement is a real part of chapter identity — Pi Kappa Phi, for instance, has a nationally known service program called The Ability Experience that chapters across the country participate in.

Greek life isn't the dominant social force on this campus the way it might be at a flagship state school. The flight line, sports clubs, and major-specific organizations pull a lot of student energy. But for the students who do go Greek, it tends to be a meaningful part of their time at Prescott — especially given how small the overall campus community is.
