housing

by: Outsider

In Orlando with my family as we decided to check out UCF and was just wondering, how does the school let some of those houses be lettered? Not trying to flame or anything but I was just wondering why the school doesn’t try to do more or expand the Greek row you already have. I’m from a SEC school (personal opinion is that you guys should have made the CFP) so it was a real eye opener and I’m really just looking for some insight.

Honestly, UCF is a school versus Greek life dynamic. They knew saying they’ll grow Greek row (Greek Park II), but they’ll probably drop Greek life before we see it. And if you’re from an SEC school, you’ll see we kind of hurt each other as there’s not a lot of cooperation between fraternities and sororities within IFC and Pan. The school is too new and progressive to place a realistic value on Greek life and the school really is quick to throw us under the bus. It’s a weird culture for sure - a guy in a fraternity here

Best advice I can give your community as a whole is to stop that toxic mentality of trying to bring everyone down. Yeah we’re all competitive when it comes to rush and all but we’ve also realized that the less of us there are, the easier it is for the school to get rid of us. I can’t even tell you how much incriminating evidence I’ve seen of other groups at my campus that never saw the light of day just because we all have a mutual respect for one another.

Remember when zbt submitted snapchats of a sigma chi house party to get them in trouble... ? That pretty much sums up ucf greek life
