Moravian College - MC Overview

  About Greek Life at MC

Moravian College is a small liberal arts school in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a student body that sits in the low thousands — and the Greek system reflects that scale. It's a smaller, more intimate setup, but it's consistently present on campus and has been for a long time.

On the fraternity side, Delta Tau Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon represent the IFC. Panhellenic has a bit more depth, with four active sororities: Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Zeta Tau Alpha. There's no NPHC or MGC presence listed on campus at this time, so the Greek community here is primarily IFC and Panhellenic.

Because Moravian is a smaller school, Greek life doesn't dominate campus culture the way it might at a large state university. It's a real part of social life for the students involved, but plenty of people go through their four years without rushing. The community tends to be pretty close-knit — when the school is small, the Greek chapters are small too, which means members often know each other well across organizations.

Recruitment at schools this size is usually a lot less intense than the week-long formal rush you'd see at big SEC or ACC programs. Panhellenic recruitment tends to follow a structured process, while IFC recruitment is typically more informal and spread out across the semester. Chapters here put real emphasis on philanthropy, which is standard for nationally affiliated organizations — each of these six chapters has a national philanthropic partner they work with through fundraisers and community events throughout the year.

Housing works a bit differently at Moravian than at schools with a traditional Greek Row. The chapters don't have standalone houses the way you'd see at larger universities. Social events and chapter life happen through campus spaces and other arrangements rather than a dedicated fraternity or sorority house.

The presence of well-established national organizations — DTD, SPE, ASA, AST, Tri Sigma, and ZTA — means members here are connected to chapters and alumni networks that extend well beyond Bethlehem.
