People this could be any chapter here at our school. National closed the house down and has issued no further communication to any of the members. They were kicked out of the house 2 weeks before finals.

PLEASE IGNORE THIS POSTING. THESE FORMER IU TRI DELTAS ARE CAUSING WAY TOO MANY PROBLEMS POSTING THEIR MESSAGE ON OTHER SCHOOL SITES. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THEIR NATIONAL CLOSED THE CHAPTER DUE TO LISTS OF ONGOING VIOLATIONS AND THE FORMER IU TRI DELTAS ARE HAVING A VERY HARD TIME ACCEPTING THE FACT THAT THEY SCREWED UP AND ARE BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

The men of SAE at NU are currently held to that same "move out in a few days" status as their chapter has been suspended. Every fraternal org has a duty to insure against destruction of properties by disgruntled membership, and as such correctly moves to evict immediately. The clauses and statutes guarding their right of eviction are found in each member's housing contract. Read up so you can shut up.

@Northwestern....there was zero reason not execute short term interim leases with huge penalties to allow people to stay in the house. As it was the leadership of the house was held personally liable for any/all damages. People just wanted to study for exams and then move out and didn't want to destroy their house. As it is the national had to hire 5 security guards 24/7 to protect the house as they are afraid of retaliation (justifiable in my opinion!). It was handled very very poorly.

Hope they get everything worked out, especially for the girls who were just in for two weeks. Even if they are released from Tri Delta they would still have to wait almost an entire year for the next recruitment in order to join another house. Not to mention missing out on an entire year of Greek life. Four years with your sisters passes by so quickly. The first two years is when most truly bond and when so many special memories are made.

My cousin was one of the new pledges and luckily got a COB bid from the house that was her second choice. But, most of her fellow pledges were not so lucky. IU recruitment is very competitive and they don't have enough houses and a number of the sororitys are unhoused.

They should have never held recruitment. Nationals are responsible for this train wreck!

Umm... their nationals won't even tell the chapter or the alumni what they did specifically.
Nationals just wants to steal the real estate.
