Henderson State University is a small public school in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and its Greek system reflects that smaller campus feel — it's a tighter-knit community where you're likely to actually know people across different chapters rather than just your own.

Both IFC and Panhellenic are represented here, along with a strong NPHC presence. On the IFC side you've got Kappa Sigma and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Panhellenic includes Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Alpha Xi Delta. The NPHC organizations are a real part of the fabric here — Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, and Phi Beta Sigma represent the Divine Nine fraternities, while Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, and Zeta Phi Beta carry the sorority side.

HSU hovers around 3,500 students, so the Greek system isn't going to look like what you'd see at a flagship state school. That said, the chapters that are here tend to be pretty active. Greek organizations are visible on campus — you'll see them involved in homecoming, step shows, and various philanthropy events throughout the year. NPHC step and stroll culture is genuinely a highlight of the social calendar.

Recruitment works a little differently at a school this size. IFC rush is generally more informal than at bigger universities, and NPHC chapters follow their national intake processes, which are more structured and typically happen after your first semester. Panhellenic formal recruitment exists but it's not the massive, week-long production you'd see at a Power Five school.

Chapter housing isn't a major feature of the Greek experience at HSU — most chapters operate without dedicated houses, so social life tends to flow through campus spaces and off-campus events rather than a traditional Greek Row setup.
