How do snapbids work?
by: pricewaterLike who gets preferred, especially if you dropped after the first round? Freshman preferred over sophomores im assuming?

If you dropped after first round you don't have a prayer for a snap bid. Snaps only happen IF a sorority doesn't hit quota during bid matching, and IF that happens they only have a couple and are only going for pnm's who went to pref and SIP'd, or at least went with them through round 3.

If a PNM went to pref at a chapter that didnt make quota and she SIPed that chapter, she would have matched.
For a touse/mouse that misses quota, snap bids will most likely be offered to the PNMs that the chapter cut right before preference. They usually will fill quota with this process and only need to COB if they had a bigger graduating class or had members drop over the summer.
For a bouse that misses quota, they’ll go through the list of PNMs who dropped out of recruitment or who went to pref but didn’t rank them. Since they’re drawing from a pool of PNMs who essentially said no to them once, a house is more likely to COB.
