ADPI is a very social sorority. They really care how others view them and focus a lot on being “top tier”. They will only mix with “top tier” sororities and frats, which makes them seem quite arrogant. The girls are all very pretty and the majority I have met are nice. They are popular among the frats, but the sororities who are not considered “top tier” (I hate the tier system) don’t like them because they disregard them completely. They do stick to who they are and don’t change their personalities to fit others, which is something I do really admire about them. They rush girls that other girls in the sorority know — if you don’t know girls in the sorority and are not a legacy, there isn’t a super high chance of them wanting you.

Definitely true, it makes it hard on PNMs because they like the chapter and even if they fit in better than a legacy or friend of a sister, they won’t get a bid because it’s all about nepotism. Strong chapter though!

The second my friend joined this sorority she changed. All she could talk about was tiers and which frats were cool enough for her to be seen at. So superficial.

as a freshman i remember going out the first week of school and having several adpi’s come up to me, asking me about rush and what sorority i was leaning toward and told me to keep addi at the top. they took down my first and last name, which at the time made me feel special until i learned later during recruitment that this was dirty rushing and very much frowned upon.

Care a little too much about trying to be top tier, they are still very much a “back up” choice for girls who didn’t get into the top 3, but overall a well-rounded house. Their girls are pretty and get good grades. They just don’t have a lot of the old money families that the top 3 get (especially XO and KD, look at their debutante count compared to others). They want to be top tier but honestly top tier at UNC just means family money, the middle tier sororities are usually the ones with attractive, fun girls.
