Trinity College - TC Overview

  About Greek Life at TC

Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut is a small liberal arts school with an intimate campus, and the Greek system there reflects that scale. You've got a handful of IFC fraternities and a couple of Panhellenic sororities, which makes this a smaller Greek community compared to what you'd find at a big state school. That said, for a campus TC's size, Greek organizations still carry a noticeable presence in the social life of the school.

On the fraternity side, chapters like Alpha Delta Phi, Psi Upsilon, Alpha Chi Rho, Kappa Sigma, Sigma Nu, Pi Kappa Alpha, Zeta Psi, and Alpha Epsilon Pi make up the IFC. Kappa Kappa Gamma and Alpha Chi Omega represent Panhellenic. There's no NPHC or MGC presence listed on this site, which is fairly typical for a small New England liberal arts college of TC's profile.

One thing that makes Trinity stand out is the Long Walk and the general architecture of the campus — a lot of the fraternity houses sit right along or near the main campus corridors, which gives Greek life a pretty visible footprint. Housing varies by chapter, but several of the fraternities do maintain their own houses or designated spaces on campus, which is a bigger deal at a school this size than it might sound.

Rush at a school like Trinity tends to be more relationship-driven than the massive formal recruitment you'd see at SEC schools. Because the student body is small and everyone kind of knows everyone, the process is more personal. Philanthropy and social events are part of the chapter culture here, and Greek organizations tend to be involved in campus programming throughout the year.

TC has a reputation as a school where the social scene matters, and Greek life has historically been a part of that. It's not the only social outlet on campus, but it's a consistent one, and for students who want that structure and community, the chapters here have been around long enough to have real roots on the Hill.
