SMU culture!!!!

Hi everyone! I just recently toured SMU and am considering applying here. I have a few questions for insiders regarding the SMU culture:
1. For an out of state student who doesn’t know anyone, how easy is it to make friends, will joining greek life help?
2. What is the actual vibe within sororities? Are there reputations to be aware of?
3. I am all over SMU tok, and I'm always seeing girls make "DIML" videos, which look pretty extravagant. How representative are social media portrayals of SMU’s student body?
4. How would you describe the overall personality and vibe of SMU students?

SMU is not a place to go to make friends.
A good portion of the population is from the afluent local high schools. So it is just high school cliques 2.0.
The SMU girls from my high school (Dallas) were mostly the insta-ho/cleat chasers who were not too concerned with academics, but had enough private tutoring to stay north of a 3.00.
The one girl from my high school with stellar academics who went there (full ride academics scholarship) absolutely hated it and transferred out.

Why did she hate it and transfer out? Isn’t it a good business school? Do most people already have friends before coming there? What’s the Greek scene like?
