True old family ‘wealth’ ideally carries character too. Old money is quiet wealth, & they are usually generous, mannerly, polite & friendly to everyone unless proven to be otherwise.
SMU reeks of new money. Period. But hey, money is money. Ben Franklin didn’t age on the 100s. Unfortunately some groups need lessons about true wealth. Bragging about being ‘rich’ lacks class, values and sophistication. Rude and ostentatious is vulgar & nouveau riche. Bragging about how ‘exclusive’ you are by who you party with, or as a walking ad for designer labels is pathetic. Would love to see some true class and heart under the cashmere.
