Thoughts on Thon

I’m puzzled. On one hand it’s super beneficiary. On the other, it seems like everyone hates it and people think it’s a really toxic experience. What do y’all think?

Both. The money it raises is great and it’s a fun time for the families but event itself is massively demonstrative. Good things done loadly have bad intentions and thon is the epitome of that

they need to be nicer to everyone participating yeah raise money but give people food and drink like don’t dehumanize people and squeeze every penny from participants it’s like their doing something nice but r mean and rude

Pretty telling when everyone cares more about the 5 minute pop culture tik tok dance than the actual times kids with cancer are on stage

Totally agree. Good idea, executed poorly. The spotlight is on the dancers, captains and top donors when it should be about the kids. Super performative.
