The only way that ranks change, other than chapters getting kicked, is for random pairs to be assigned. If IFC and Panhel assigned pairs for Homecoming, THON or just socials once in awhile people would realize they could have fun with people beyond their current safe zone. Once that started happening, you would see chapters from every tier getting to know one another better and the stigma of the tier system would be gone.

Yeah but I don’t want to party with certain soroities and frats? Why should my frat let some ifc and pan hel execs decide who i get to socialize with? Randomized or not, I want to party and fundraiser with my friends, not some random pair that was assigned to us.

You never know until you try. You might find out that you actually meet some pretty cool people that are outside your current circle.
