DG being labeled as a joke would only happen if other girls thought there was a reason they should be torn down. keep that in mind- theres no reason to say anything negative about another sorority unless you fear them, particularly with recruitment coming up

looks like dg just got stuck in the crossfire of this post, as pretty much any chapter does in one of these ranking threads. i think dg is a well regarded sorority, regardless of the fact that it wasn't the right one for me and honestly you don't really hear anything bad about them.

to echo every other response to a pnm: go into rush with an open mind and take posts on this website sparingly, if you are going to read them.

the only people who say DG is a joke are people who are nervous about having them as competition during rush. like the poster above me said, DG's "sweetheart" thing wasn't for me, but people definitely respect/like them as a chapter.

I disagree. Kappa's bitter because they had to take a lot of girls DG cut last year and Alpha Phi's scared they'll lose the "nice girls" to them since those members are the only thing keeping their reputation from falling apart. I'd say the only chapters not worried are AEPhi and Pi Phi, since we tend to look for different types of girls than DG.

I agree with above except for the part about aephi. aephi definitely sees DG as competition since they have been dg down all over this site

true they might go for different girls, but dg always beats them in rush and aephi is well aware of that fact

totally agree about different recruitment "competition" based on the type of girls chapters recruit. now that dg has relatively social pledge classes, they pose more competition for the "nice girls"

Spot on comment about Alpha Phi - without those few actually nice, down to earth girls, their reputation would be completely shot. If PNMs see through it and go DG/elsewhere, APhi basically becomes the old Kappa.
