KD has one of the most expensive houses to live in on campus and is also one of the only houses that has very few members receiving financial aid and sorority scholarships. The majority of their members are private pay

Because someone on here equated being private pay with being wealthy and getting financial aid with being poor. I’m pointing out that not qualifying for financial aid these days happens to people who are just middle class. And I have friends from wealthy families who got financial aid because they declared themselves independent on their FAFSA. Sorry I wasn’t clear before. Also, no need to be so nasty.

Same. I could see Aphi recruiting girls for superficial reasons like $$$ but KD always seemed super down to earth compared to other upper mids, not caring so much about looks and wealth, so this is kind of disappointing.

Actually this makes me think even better of Kappa and DG. They are top houses that are welcoming to everyone and don’t care how rich your family is.

This is one of the reasons Kappa and DG are > Aphi and KD. Aphi and KD apparently recruit based on how much money you come from. I wouldn’t want to be in a house where everyone has the same income and background. You’re supposed to grow in college, not stay in your bubble.

It matters because Kappa is trying to look like something they aren’t and trying to convince people that they are a house of wealthy girls and that isn’t true. You don’t get to pull girls by making them think they want to join a wealthy house, when they aren’t even the wealthiest of houses on the row!

People want to be in Kappa/DG/Aphi for lots of superficial reasons and because they’re the top houses but I don’t know a single person who legit cares how wealthy the girls in the house are.

A lot of assumptions are being thrown around as if everyone’s situation fits one box. Financial aid formulas are complicated, and plenty of students from all kinds of backgrounds qualify or don’t qualify for reasons that aren’t visible from the outside. It doesn’t say anything about a person’s wealth or character. Probably safer not to paint entire groups with one brush
And what is with all the negative energy going toward APhi and KD on this app? What is your problem with these chapters??

Right? No one was saying they ONLY recruit wealthy PNMs. It was just stated that those 2 chapters have the highest amount of private pay members

There’s just as much negative energy going toward Kappa - saying they all look the same, aren’t welcoming and are “zero real.” Nobody is safe from mean girl energy here.

I know that its APhi and Kappa Delta who have the highest amount of members who come from money at WSU, I have behind the scenes info. Not that it really matters when choosing a house, but just in case you were low-key wondering
