UW Seattle is a massive public research university with over 50,000 students, and the Greek system is a real presence on campus — not the only social scene, but definitely a visible one. The IFC oversees a solid number of fraternities, Panhellenic covers a strong lineup of sororities, and there are also multicultural Greek organizations through the Multicultural Greek Council. UW runs on the quarter system, so the recruitment calendar moves faster than at semester schools — something worth keeping in mind.

On a campus this size, Greek life is one slice of a much bigger social picture. Seattle's culture seeps into campus life — it's an outdoorsy, tech-forward, independent-minded city, and that shapes how students engage with organized social structures like fraternities and sororities. That said, chapters here do a lot in terms of philanthropy events, intramural sports, and connecting students who might otherwise get lost in a 50,000-person school.

Husky football is a unifying force on campus, and Greek chapters are usually well-represented on game days at Husky Stadium.
