Sorority/recruitment long tell all

I’m a sr in Greek life who has friends in almost every chapter and has recruited each year, I just dgaf about how my chapter does atp and remember how lost I was choosing a house bc they all feel the same during recruitment. Hopefully this is helpful for little freshies facing recruitment!

In the long run what sorority you are in really doesn’t matter relating to parties, frats, formals, reputation, etc. what does matter is what guys you are friends with, that’s it. You can be in kkg w no guy friends and you won’t be going frat formals or have early rides, or you can be in chi o with good friends and have the experience most girls think a top sorority will give them. That being said, sig ep generally only pays attention to girls in kkg and tridelt and guys in the other top frats will pay more attention to girls in the “upper” 4 (tridelt, axo, aphi, kkg) who your friends are will always matter more than what house you are in, top houses aren’t a magic wand that will make you popular. you can argue being in a top house will make you friends w connected girls, but pc’s just do not become besties like that and the top houses recruit friend groups so those “connected” girls won’t really be looking for new friends in their pc. Pick the house you like because like it, not because you want to get status out of it, you will only be disappointed.

they all target friend groups and recruit based on that. Post on social media bc u only meet them 3 times and they will want more info on you. Pnms with more stuff shared on socials give houses more info on their vibe which will always be a safer bet than someone who is a ghost on social media, it’s not really a shallow move it’s just safer.

If you want to get something out of your time in Greek life (philanthropy, leadership, etc) don’t go tridelt/kkg. They pick their exec based on reputation, not who is qualified, and if someone who isn’t super well-known is chosen they all get pissed lol. Tridelt is an organizational mess with little focus on philanthropy. But if you are genuinely looking for just a party sorority that is low commitment, tridelt would be perfect for you, and I’m not being shady that IS what some pnms want for a chapter and that’s okay. Philanthropy is more focused on in aphi, axo, kd, chi o, and agd. If you want parties go axo, aphi, tridelt, or kappa. For academic focus go chi o, but I’ve heard chi o is kind of toxic even tho they try to emphasize the “REAL” sisterhood thing. In tridelt, axo, aphi, kkg there are layers within the chapter of the well-known girls and the rest & it’s a divide that’s felt by all the members. Kd and dg are most inclusive imo. Sisterhood is still best in dg aphi and axo from what I hear, kappas is honestly great ONLY if you are one of their more well-known members other than that it’s fine. Tridelts is pretty bad, I’ve heard mixed things about kd and chio. Idk anyone in agd.

sororities already have girls on their “want” list but their whole class is not picked going in. Rankings wise Kkg did bad last year (still top), tridelt did better than they have in the past, the rest did as expected aside from maybe aphi that seems to do better each year. Aphi is the same as the top 3, they get threatened and swear it’s not. Axo is better than tridelt. all houses have pros and cons so just pick who you vibe with not who you think you should pick based on ranks. I promise you the rank will not do for you what you think it will and you’ll be disappointed.
