ranking lukewarm take

i’ve seen some people discussing this so i figured id give my 2 cents lol in case pnms/anyone cares

the ranking systems we use are so stuck in the past and its crazy to not allow for any kind of movement in the past 10 years. i see all the time that when lower houses are genuinely improving upon their older images (ie. dz, aoii, sk, even axo), people act like you’re committing a crime for ranking to reflect that. dz especially with this! they had a great recruitment last year and yet people constantly argue for them to be lower and lower. this isn’t to say every mid house that improves on themself should become touse, it’s just that there’s so much room for movement in the middle houses that nobody allows. vice versa for top houses (tridelt inactive on campus, kd and even zeta falling due to internal issues, chi o controversies) people will acknowledge their weaknesses in replies but you can never actually rank them any lower without starting a fight. this isn’t to bash those chapters— this is more about their appearances on campus as a whole rather than the individuals. every house has GREAT GIRLS!! i just think it’s silly to expect every house to fit the standards set for them like 10 years ago and never let things change even when clearly things move on campus. pnms this isn’t to say there’s no truth to any of these rankings, obviously they’re founded in reality to an extent, it’s most just that these numbers are outdated or generally inaccurate and real life perceptions move a lot more irl than on here. by perpetuating these rankings the “tops” will never move even when they clearly need to because it leads people (even frat guys lol) to think they are still the most desirable socially even when more and more pnms are leaving rankings behind for sisterhood and involvement. idk sorry for the rant i’m not even a greekrank warrior like that (i have a life) ive just seen some replies abt this and thought id share. sorry if this starts a fight or anything #peace and love
