Rush 26 Predictions

These are just speculations about next rush based on trends— not ranking the girls or intended to be mean

I think people are starting to realize top houses aren’t everything, so there will be less of a pull for KD/Phi Mu/ DDD, especially with some of the bad publicity they’ve been getting.

DZ and AXO were really strong with pnms last year, but DZ has historically been a bit lazy with recruiting, so i expect them to have an average year. AXO is a toss up, i see them taking girls who might have gone KD or Phi Mu this year.

I think ADPi will stick to the same vibes they usually do, but their pcs get worse as the years go on— they don’t have the southern, elitist group vibe they used to.

I think AOPi is gonna have a big year and sort of attract lots of pnms the way DZ did last year! I think in terms of publicity they’ve been trying to shake the “Aopray” vibe and leave that to chi O, so i see more people open to going there.

Chi O i think will be the same as usual— very southern and connections based, but i think their pc might be a little prettier/friendlier than they have been the last few years!

I think KKG and SK are going to have big years as well. SK did uncharacteristically well last year, and KKG has been top of the bottom for the past few years and just needs a push. I think with more northerners coming a lot of them will gravitate here, because they take lots of out of staters. i think the girls will be more attractive/well-rounded, though, as girls who don’t have those qualities are more intimidated by sec rush and have begun to not bother.

I think AGD can only go up from here. as their 3rd year recruiting, they can start to be more choosy with who they take rather than giving out bids just for numbers.

Zeta is tough, because for some reason at UTK they don’t have that southern blonde popularity they do at a lot of other sec schools. The zetas i know aren’t super involved or extroverted, so I think maybe they will have a weaker recruiting year.

I have a feeling DG might fall this year. My DG friends complain a lot about sisterhood and executive board, so i think recruitment might be hard for them. They seem sort of non-cohesive and tense, lately— it could reflect on their numbers.

As for pi phi, I think they’re the only sorority who’s really “stuck.” it’s hard to get out of the hole they seem to be in, but they have some really pretty girls! I am cheering for them.
