by: Truth.I feel like I've heard a lot of PNMs coming from my hometown talking about what house they are going to be in...Truth is YOU DON'T KNOW. You will not know 100% until bid day. PNMs please do not go around talking with a sense of entitlement. Majority of girls rushing have solid gpas, are pretty, have extracurriculars, etc. Many girls have older friends in chapters too. GIVE EVERY HOUSE A CHANCE & be very careful who you brag too...you are doing more harm than good.....

Greek life is so small at UT that idc. If i get in one i want to pay for, great! If not, so be it. Not paying thousands to be in a mediocre club.

This is all pretty funny. I dropped out of rush when I didn't get into the one I wanted. Thought my world was over. Got in my Sophomore year, dropped my Junior year. Honestly, it's all just not that big of a deal.

The OP is right... my chapter has had to cut many great girls because we have heard them going around talking about a different chapter that they want to be in. If houses hear this, they will not waste a bid on you over someone who actually wants to be in their house. And then if you get dropped from that one house you are wanting, you have no other options.
The OP is just giving you a warning and if you are smart you will take her advice and keep an open mind during recruitment.

Thanks for your condescending advice! Now i know bragging is a bad idea, lol! You sound so superior but i guess it's easy to be on 'the other side'. Us dumb pms just shouldn't hope to be in a certain house around you i guess! I'm sure the girls in 'your hometown' are just petrified now, not! They probably all secretly hope they get in a different one than you for sure OP!

Let me clarify-- it's cool to want to be in a house, that's great! But these girls are already BUYING letters, rude & bashing houses. I am not in a top tier house but the house I wanted & it was just really disappointing to hear these girls talk like they were so much better than my house before they even rushed.

Don't feel bad, the 'top' houses weirdly took the girls from my school that had mediocre grades, were never elected to anything, no scholarships or service, and weren't especially 'hot' or anything. It was crazy. The top 10 girl with the best resume dropped out because of it and the other smart pretty hoco court/class officer type girls got mediocre ones. It was really strange.

I am going inactive this year from a 'top' one. I feel like i'm back in high school with the cliques and judging. So expensive too. The greek life is so much better at bama where my sis goes.
