Phi Mu - ΦΜ Sorority Ratings at UTK

I can’t really say anything about UTK Phi Mu that hasn’t already been said. They’re top tier not just at UTK but nationwide too. Of course, this gets to their heads sometimes but there are also a lot of humble and down-to-earth girls in the chapter believe it or not. Though I will admit if you’re not rich and pretty you likely won’t get a bid. They know how to party and can be seen at almost every tailgate BUT they’re also very smart and do constant tabling and philanthropy stuff. Overall they’re an amazing group and I think they deserve their high reputation.

great chapter with the hottest blondes on campus, they are great to mix with and know how to have a great time. Tons of fun.

These girls kinda scare me but at least their house smells like cookies and all the members seem to enjoy it. They are the copy-paste kind of sorority if you know what I mean. No hate, just an observation. I always expect them to be mean girls, but they are overall pleasant individuals. I feel pretty neutral about them and I haven’t had any specific bad experiences. The only major critique is they really emphasize how wealthy all the members are and they require a lot more time/energy from their members than most other chapters. They commit to the brand for sure.

I used to be in this chapter. Girls are not super friendly or open to meeting new people that join their chapter. I’ve seen “mean girl” behavior constantly displayed by the newest pledge class and sophomore pledge class. Even worse, half the sorority members doesn’t attend their own events because it’s not fun. Recruitment is hell each year and they literally don’t care that they play into the stereotype of only picking blonde-haired girls to be in their chapter. In terms of ranking, they are considered to be one of the best, but there are so many girls that end up dropping this sorority after freshman year. There are so many other good sorority’s here.

After seeing the pc phi mu got, it just makes it more clear that all they care about is looks or money. I would say it is top tier but these girls have no sisterhood and the only reason they “like” the sorority is bc they’re on “top”

great girls and very good sisterhood. all the girls are nice and kind and raise lots of money for their philanthropy

This is known to be a popular sorority but 90% of the girls in it are absolutely miserable!!! They constantly tear each other down and act horrendously toward one another. The drama never ends!! They have issues no other sorority has and just constantly sound like a big headache to have to be a part of. I honestly do feel bad for a lot of their girls. Girls looking to rush use this as a warning because I know a lot of girls that regretted it.

Top tier at Tennessee, the best of the best are in Phi Mu. everyone knows that phi mu rushes the most wanted girls

They made my rush experience horrible. The girl I talked to did not try to maintain a conversation and kept looking around the room the entire time. She didn’t smile once. All they care about is looks and popularity but they really need to work on being kinder and more accepting. I know a few nice girls in the sorority but they were probably just being fake.

FAKE FAKE FAKE!!!!! I had the WORST experience during rush with phi mu!! I have dark brown hair and the only thing the girl I was matched with could talk about was whether or not I’m going to get highlights or dye my hair blonde. It’s so obvious that all phi mu cares about is their image and their sisterhood is terrible.
