The TRUTH about Elmo rn

My personal opinion is that Elmo is no longer a top house. At this point, it’s almost humorous to hear them mentioned in the same conversation as Hall, DKE, or Zete.

Yes, the older guys are genuinely good guys. But these brothers didn’t start crying in final hours for no reason. They would rather bid two kids with serious allegations, risking years of built sorority relations, than to have a smaller (but safer) pledge class. That decision speaks louder than any self-ranking ever could.

I’m not saying SAE or Phi Psi should suddenly inherit a top-four spot, neither has earned that either. I’m simply saying this, unless they can pull a miracle in rush, Elmo will continue to drift further from what it once was. No amount of self-promotion, nostalgia, or inflated rankings on this site can reverse that.

To any first year, I would stay well clear of Elmo. The dues are high, the sorority relations are slipping, and they were still standing alone at Foxfield. Those aren’t rumors, they’re warning signs.

Could they pull off a masterclass in rush class next year? Maybe. But that’s what it would take, a miracle. Without one, the version of Elmo people still talk about will remain exactly that…. a memory.

So lower your expectations. Especially the new PC squids whose egos have been supercharged by stories of the Elmo legends who came before them. Those legends built the reputation. Living in their shadow won’t preserve it.
