Which houses are going to do COB?

Only houses that don't make quota can snap bid. Last year only tri-delt was allowed to snap bid. I haven't heard of any panhel issues, but that's crazy if it's true 😞

There are no 'accidents', it's a computer algorithm. The chapters submit their ranked bid lists and those are matched with pnm's ranks from their MRABA's and bids are generated. There are no drops at pref, only bid matching.

People will make excuses for getting dropped by saying 'panhellenic made a mistake' or 'there was a computer glitch' or something like that, and sorority members will use those excuses too when someone asks why they were dropped to get out of an awkward conversation. Happens every year.

Snap bids only go out before bids are distributed, if a chapter didn't match to quota. There is no snap bidding after bids go out.

COB is different from snap bidding. COB is based on Chapter Total. After everyone accepts her bid, panhellenic will reset Chapter Total, which is the maximum allowed membership a chapter may have. Chapters whose memberships are below the new Total may COB if they wish, starting after bid day. A chapter may also COB if they still didn't hit quota on bid day. Those chapters already have a good idea of who they would want to offer open bids to, will not necessarily broadcast that they are offering COB, and that's because there aren't that many open spots.

The purpose of COB is for the sorority memberships to all be on par with each other and to allow some to take a few more members after recruitment if needed to catch up for the sake of equity. The goal is that all chapters have about the same number of members, within a few give or take. COB IS NOT A SECONDARY RUSH AND CHAPTERS DON'T COB UNLESS THEY HAVE TO.

Everyone needs to stop asking about snap bids, it's not that big of a thing. No one really knows who's doing snap bids because they are done on the DL by a chapter recruitment team member. There is not an announcement that any chapter is snap bidding, there is no reason to do so, pnm's are contacted individually and if a pnm accepts a snap bid she goes to bid day with everyone else, and if she doesn't mention it to anyone then no one would know she's a snap bid. The chapter membership usually doesn't know about their own snap bids and it's not a focus on bid day. A bid is a bid.
Tri Delt has been known for snap bidding because they have had to do it on a larger scale, so more people know about it.
Please just give it up about snap bids.

I know pi phi, Aphi and axo all hit quota this year (not saying the others didn’t these are just the ones ik for sure)
