re-rushing at cu as a sophomore

I accepted a bid and ended up dropping. I already know what house I want this time around and have a lot of friends in that house. Is there any way that I wouldn’t get a bid??

I'm a sophomore and all of my best friends are in the house I want and yes it’s a top house. They have basically already told me that I'm getting a bid so I am going through rush more as a formality. I know I will have mostly freshman in my mc but I can’t wait for bid day!

Make sure to tell all the other houses that you visit during their parties that you already have friends in a top house and you’re getting a bid from them. Don’t make any effort in your conversations and just act like you’re better than them.

Apparently, the houses don’t announce what their GPA cutoff is, but I used ChatGPT and apparently sophomore GPAs range between 3.0 and 3.5. Yikes!

of course your friends can speak on your behalf, but it’s up to the entire chapter, not just a few members

Just make sure you make a good impression on the girls you actually talk to not just your friends in the house. It’s not a guarantee at all, but hey, good luck.

It depends on how much pull your friends have in their sorority. It also depends on if you have a good reputation with other members. If you were messy at a frat house even just once, other members might use it to cut you.

Girl, if there is someone or a group in my chapter that I don't generally respect, or usually disagree with in their judgement, then I am automatically going to rank against any pnm that they are enthusiastic about. Membership selection is a chapter decision and chapter dynamics like that always come into play.

i think in some houses you can only vote on the girls you meet. i’m not sure every chapter votes on every girl? if she has connections, those girls would pre-score her?

Yes, for some chapters it's the members who actually talk to the pnm's during that round who directly score those girls. And that works great for pnm's that no one has ever met. But you don't think that any member's scoring isn't heavily influenced by their own preconceived ideas and other sisters' opinions? We know who's coming through at each datebook and some of us already know these girls or know about them, especially a sophomore who has been here for a year (and has 'best friends' in the chapter). We do talk to each other and scoring doesn't happen in a bubble. It is a chapter decision however it happens.
