2026 Sorority Descriptions - NO RANKINGS!
by: Truth
Honestly people argue about “top tier” way too much. Auburn doesn’t really work like that anymore. ADPi and AGD are great houses, just like all the others, but they aren’t universally top for every PNM. Same way Tri Delt or GPhi might be a dream house for one girl and not even on another girl’s radar.
Recruitment here is way more about fit and background than some rigid tier list. With more OOS PNMs every year, things are shifting. In-state girls, OOS girls, legacies, faith-focused PNMs, and highly involved PNMs all prioritize different things, so different houses rise for different groups.
Reality is: there isn’t a true “top tier” at Auburn. Any sorority here would be considered a top house on most other campuses. That’s how strong Auburn Greek life is overall.
With chapters this large, every house has depth, variety, and space for girls to find their people.
General chapter vibes (very broadly, and always changing): These are not listed in any type of ranking. They are reverse alphabetical order.
Zeta Tau Alpha (Zeta)
Heavy OOS. Recent pledge classes haven’t been their strongest, with visibility coming mostly from their party scene. Known for strong social presence and very pretty girls. Still a good sorority overall.
Sigma Sigma Sigma (Tri Sig)
Newer chapter that always COBs and is still building. Big focus on kindness and leadership opportunities. Good fit for girls who want to help shape a growing chapter.
Sigma Kappa (SK)
Mixed in-state and OOS. Moving away from a party-first image toward leadership, involvement, and real sisterhood. Known for having beautiful girls while still being genuine, down-to-earth, and clearly on the rise.
Pi Beta Phi (Pi Phi)
OOS-heavy with a big Instagram presence. Confident, social, and very party-oriented. Less campus involvement, more appeal to girls prioritizing social life.
Phi Mu (Phi Mu)
Traditionally more in-state, but moving more towards OOS. Very looks-driven reputation. Strong social scene, but sisterhood depth can vary by pledge class. Still respected, but often labeled more party than involved.
Kappa Kappa Gamma (Kappa)
Often COBs and flies under the radar. Chill, low drama, and close internally, even if campus involvement isn’t huge. Not flashy, awkward to some, but comfortable for the right girl.
Kappa Delta (KD)
Traditionally in-state, gradually adding more OOS. Known for strong grades, low drama, and a quieter presence on campus. Not loud, but steady and established. Has a lingering “mean girl” reputation, fair or not, that can feel off-putting to some PNMs.
Kappa Alpha Theta (Theta)
Mixed backgrounds with genuinely kind girls. Frequently participates in COB, but has increased their campus involvement recently and pledge classes are getting stronger. Approachable and steadily improving.
The rest of the chapters will be listed in the comments.

Gamma Phi Beta (GPhi)
Heavy OOS with a relaxed, approachable vibe. Still moving past older reputation issues, but many genuinely kind members. Known for looks and social appeal without chaos. Rising.
Delta Zeta (DZ)
Outgoing, social, and high-energy with a strong party scene. Also has plenty of academic girls, including STEM majors. Very visible on social media and during rush. Not a looks-driven chapter, but known for genuine friendships and solid sisterhood.
Delta Gamma (DG)
Balanced with both in state and OOS girls with a strong rush presence. Mix of personalities from social to laid-back. Can feel reserved or less visible, but the chapter has a solid core of kind, genuine girls.
Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta)
More OOS and generally welcoming to a wide range of girls. Fun, friendly energy that can feel scattered at times. A solid “you’ll find your people” house and rising.

Chi Omega (XO)
Once dominant, now clearly rebuilding. Leadership issues and repeated probation hurt their image. Potential is there, but they’re not where they used to be.
Alpha Xi Delta (AXD)
Mixed in-state/OOS. Often COBs but remains well-liked. Strong rush presence and improving visibility. Feels like a chapter headed in the right direction.
Alpha Omicron Pi (AOPi)
Leans in-state and academically strong. Sweet, genuine girls with a slightly quirky vibe. Pledge classes can vary, but consistently involved on campus.
Alpha Chi Omega (AXO)
Quietly improving year after year. Good balance of faith, academics, and involvement. One of the chapters actually trending upward rather than relying on old reputation.
Alpha Delta Pi (ADPi)
Also pulls heavily in-state. A bit of a “13th grade” feel, but calmer and more polished than AGD. Strong grades, lower drama, steady campus involvement. Not flashy, but respected.
Alpha Gamma Delta (AGD)
Very Birmingham-heavy and very familiar, which works great if you like tight circles and shared backgrounds. Can feel cliquish and “high school extended” to outsiders. Strong faith focus, a plus for some, a dealbreaker for others.

This is pretty accurate. Any PNM going through fall recruitment should approach each sorority with an open mind and genuinely give every house they’re invited back to a chance. Every sorority at Auburn is strong and wherever you land, you’ll have opportunities to thrive and feel at home.

I like this. This is really good. PNMs need to focus on where they genuinely connect the most. There is not a “bad” sorority at Auburn. Every chapter has strong, involved, fun girls. The key is finding the place that feels natural to you.
If you go into recruitment dead set on one house because of reputation, tiers, or things you’ve heard, and you aren’t open-minded, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. I’ve seen girls obsess over one sorority, get the bid they thought they wanted, and then end up unhappy because it wasn’t actually the right fit for them.
Keep an open mind, trust the process, and choose the house where you feel comfortable and valued. That’s what matters long term.

Idk but gphi girls are intimidating (pretty girls) and dz girls are really pretty too so I would say those two are wrong on those aspects.
