What’s up with IWT cuts

Who were the first round of cuts so big this year? Especially since we didn’t even get to talk to the sororities. I had a 4.0, tons of involvement, and a good video and I got cut from a few houses I wasn’t expecting to. From what I’m hearing from several girls the first round cuts have been brutal and way bigger than any other year.

Brutal for sure. I had a 3.95 unweighted, tons of involvement and got cut from all but 6. Not sure what is going on. People always say the first cut is grades but I don't see as how that's the case with people posting they have awesome grades and still got cut.

What were your ACT scores like? Most chapters have standards for that as well.

That definitely was a harsh cut then. Unfortunately with 1700+ girls it is inevitable that some just “fall through the cracks”. We hate it also because we never know if it’ll turn out to be someone we wish we would’ve had. It’s an imperfect system :( I’m not sure if you were completely dropped or still have some left, but if you do, give those your all! If you were dropped, COB is always a good option, and so is rushing as a sophomore. We are blessed in that we go to a school where greek life doesn’t make you or break you! You will find your people no matter what!

I have 6 left but am worried about cuts for Wednesday. How deep are they?

We won’t know until Panhellenic establishes a quota. In my personal experience, I got cut by the most houses between philanthropy and sisterhood. But, for many of my friends, the harsh cuts came after round 1

I’m also wondering why the cuts were huge and how big they’ll be Wednesday. I have a friend that has big connections to a house and she got dropped by them. I have several houses left but there’s only 3 I actually like so I’m nervous

Connections are also a little harder to navigate this year because we can’t vote as a whole group

I feel like mine is very clean. Pics of me or my cats. Nothing wild or inappropriate or that would cause a grandma to raise her eyebrows.

IWT is always a big cut. This year had a record breaking number of PNMs so that’s also a factor
