Out of the upper bottom/lower mid (phi mu, gamma phi beta, axo, and kkg) what distinguishes them?
Interested in these chapters for fall rush & would like to know, thanks!

To be completely honest, Gamma Phi Beta is for the girls that could not afford to join an already established sorority. Once their dues spike ever so slightly they will lose a lot of members and problems will start to arise. They are also in a honeymoon stage since they are new but that won't last long and is not a stable choice for freshmen/sophomores. If you're about to graduate, I would say go for it but if you want something long-lasting I would not take that risk.

I don't think this is necessarily true. A friend of mine went through formal recruitment, didn't love any of the houses but really enjoyed Gamma Phi's presentation. She rushed GPhi because of the philanthropy/values not dues.

I have friends in gamma phi beta who could have afforded any sorority... The reasons why they did gphib were based on preference alone. Also, yes they're in the honeymoon phase but they already have a strong presence on campus which is impressive

It's for those few freshman who either missed rush (why do they put it before the semester?? I missed it and had to go through as a sophomore) or those who wanted to start something new, or liked their values or, God forbid, liked that sisterhood because that's the whole point of sororities. If my chapter had been new the semester I joined, I would have loved it just as much.

Phi Mu- sweet, southern, very strong sisterhood. Trying to overcome an outdated reputation, and if they didn't have that stigma and were going on looks/involvement/sisterhood alone I think they would probs be higher.
Gamma Phi Beta- New, sweet, strong sisterhood again. Since they are new, they could really go anywhere but I think they are more values based and sisterhood based than appearance based and therefore might stay with the phi mu/kappa/axo group you just listed because of their priorities.
AXO- A diverse group of girls- they are nice and fun and seen as little more party than the other houses on this list. They can be seen as try hard sometimes which doesn't help them out that much but the girls themselves are fun and nice I think it is more the alum/exec/older members pushing that vibe.
KKG- Under the radar house, very nice girls, southern good girl vibes coming from this house. I think they might be the most low key of this group in a good way though- they definitely focus on sisterhood. Also no fines so that's pretty cool.
Overall, there are pros and cons to being in all of the houses you listed. But don't go into recruitment only considering some of the houses because you never know where you will end up. In the end, you will find friends no matter where you end up. :)

Funny, because I have a completely different view than above. I think that kkg and phi mu are preppier and southern, while axo and gamma phi are more diverse.
The thing is, kkg, axo and phi mu have consistently been bottom, while gamma phi is already showing improvement. I think they will end up being a solid middle tier after they settle in.
I also think phi mu is rising! Their sisterhood seems genuine and strong. Kkg might be falling- losing some of their girls to chi o, dz, phi mu.
Overall, the four chapters mentioned have strong sisterhoods. I would rank them phi mu = gamma phi, and slightly above kkg = axo.
