If you're a legacy for a sorority are your chances of getting a bid better? or what does being a legacy do for you?

only helps in some sororities...they may keep you longer...string you along, then drop you at the end.....

Well, it gives you some extra attention and consideration. But it does nothing if you are not a fit for that particular sorority. Chapters differ widely from school to school and no one is "great everywhere" contrary to what you hear. Sometimes a P.N.M. will be a legacy to several sororities and still end up pledging a completely different group. And there's nothing wrong with that. Good luck finding your new home!

Mmmmmm it also depends on the house. A lot of houses don't care at all. A lot may be obligated to keep you for one or two rounds to give legacies a change. A few (really just ADPi) will bid almost every legacy. Don't tell the other houses you're a legacy somewhere unless you're trying to say you're only aiming there honestly.

They give legacies extra attention but do drop a good many as well. I think they took around 20 in a PC of over 80.
