rec letters

How important are rec letters at UF?

I don't know about other chapters, but for mine rec letters mean very very little. It's all about the impression you make during recruitment, your involvement in high school, and if you're a legacy you get some special consideration.

I spent way too much effort getting rec letters and those were the only chapters that dropped me.

recs dont matter anymore. sororities have made them optional. Theta now allows ANYONE to write a rec for them!

Not all sororities have dropped recs (yet). Some sororities still have a requirement that a PNM has to have a rec before she can be pledged. Recs don't guarantee you will make it to the next round, but it might be the reason that you don't.
