Record number pnms

by: xxx

Does it mean anything that there is a record number of pnms this year?? Will you be more likely to be dropped?

No, it doesn't work that way. More pnm's in the process means higher numbers at every round and bigger nm classes. Your chances are the same as any other year. It's percentage based, not hard numbers based.

Please don’t show up at a sorority if they aren’t on your list . Happened last year. Messed up lines for phi chis

Last fall record number pnms = snap bids

Most houses it’s 60 every year, need to prepare better bump it up Why does dphie have low membership compared to the rest?

Adpi 60 pnms last year last minute snap bid. I know many girls who got a snap due to required quota. You don’t want to be chosen that way

If a sorority does not have a full pledge class at quota (set by UF), they can call back those who were released from recruitment and offer a bid. Last fall due to record numbers many were released after round 3 and yesss some still showed up unannounced at pref.
So if a sorority gives out 60 bids with a requirement of 80, they will be required to call back girls the morning of bid day. You really don't want to rush hoping for a snap bid/ only given a bid because a house didn't meet quota that’s not the best way to join a sorority

You really don't know how it works. Quota isn't a requirement, it's a max allowed number. Sure, sororities need to make quota, but they aren't required by panhellenic to snap, they just need to and if they don't snap they will COB. And the record number of pnm's had nothing to do with it. Every chapter is given the number they can invite back to each round by panhellenic, and if they are given a number too low or they decide invite less than that number, which is an option for every chapter, then they end up not matching to quota and snap bidding. This could happen if there were 100 pnm's or 10,000 pnm's. Snaps go to pnm's that were WANTED in later rounds but just didn't make the chapter's cutoff. When a chapter is required to make 75% cuts at each round, lots of great pnm's don't make it. It's percentages, not hard numbers. Don't scare pnm's with twisted facts.

Were those pnm’s released from rush before Pref because no chapters invited them back or was it mostly pnm’s who dropped out bc they didn’t like their Pref lists

Mostly pnm's who dropped before pref or SIP'd and didn't get it.
