transfer
by: TransferThis is late to be asking this question but I need to know for my friend. She’s a UF transfer as a sophomore and was at a school in the Northeast but wanted to be closer to family for personal reasons. She was in a sorority in the Northeast that has an extremely different vibe at UF. One that she’s worried she will hate. Can she rush and choose a different sorority or should she just give it up and not rush?

She has two choices and only two:
1) Make an honest attempt to get it to work with her chapter here. The worst that can happen is that she makes zero friends and it doesn't work out but at least she should try it for a semester. Also it is possible that the chapter might not allow her to affiliate.
2)Take alumna status and move on with making other friends that she can get along with. Anyone in a sorority should know that an initiated member absolutely cannot join another one.

No- she’s met them, she’s here for summer and it’s like completely different. She’s so not happy. It’s like a different sorority altogether- they won’t even make eye contact. She wore her letters to class the first week and one of the SISTERS laughed and said “yeah we aren’t like that here”
