If you’re rushing a sorority:
Go somewhere that you actually like, everyone is going to put on a happy face and play nice when you’re rushing, but it’s easy to tell the people who are genuine from those who are as shallow as a plate of cereal. No matter where you end up there will be something amazing to take away from it, whether it’s a few lifelong friends, business connections, or a great four years full of memories.
If you’re rushing a fraternity:
Don’t let the tier system cloud your judgement when making decisions about where you’re gonna end up. In four years, whether you’re a top house or a bottom house, you’re gonna be somewhere where none of it matters. The professional connections you make with people outside of school come from genuine friendships, not from being associated with letters. Partying sucks if you hate the people you’re partying with.
Greek life is awesome, there’s no reason to make it so political. Every house has something or someone unique to offer, spend some time figuring out what it is.

I disagree with above. This site tells you which groups have the highest prestige. But what it can't tell you is where you will be happiest. All sororities are full of cute, smart, and involved girls, but each sorority puts off a different vibe. I recommend that you join the highest ranked one that really wants you. I'm in a mid-ranked one, and I wouldn't change it.

I joined a house because it was my perfect fit. Period. Not because it was a higher tier house. I also was a a fence about a couple other houses. My mom graduated from UF and was in a house at UF. There was no bashing of other houses . The top houses back then were Adpi, Dg , Tridelt. A little has changed such as Zta and Kd being a true top. I actuallly think Ddd is better than KD.
