sorority rush
by: ?#3 by: Yes, but...
There are no rules against rushing if you are married, but many sororities have national rules that don't allow married chapter actives. In these sororities, members who get married automatically go to alumna status, so they would not be able to offer you a bid. You need to be honest with all chapters about your marital status, and honest with yourself and your husband about the commitment required to be a member. Members must attend not only weekly meetings, but required philanthropy activities and social events like date nights and socials with fraternities that your husband could not attend. Sororities are a huge time commitment, and this is on top of going to college! Your marriage should be your priority; are you prepared to take so much time away from your marriage, and would your husband support you in them, and can you afford it?
