is it corny to email sorority recruitment chairs?

I've seen a couple ppl posting about spring recruitment and am definitely interested . Is it corny to email or IG DM recruitment chairs and ask them if they're participating in spring recruitment / if they're doing any open enrollment ? I heard some sororities last year were filling spots last year, but didn't officially do "informal rush" and you had to be specifically invited to parties . Is this true ? Also, how do you get invited to these extra exclusive parties ? Should I ask my friends in that house if they can help me out or is that invasive / lame ?

Do not DM. Ask your close friends in sororities what the correct protocol is. Each house is different. Do not ask someone that you barely or don’t know

Okay do not dm, but what about email ? Everyone before was saying we should email and now we shouldn’t???

So if you have friends in those specific sororities then ask them. If not, email is much more professional than a DM
