bid day

by: Sage

Congratulations it's bid day! You made it through the rain delays, the humidity, and the HEAT! Today you will take your first steps into greek life. We have prepared a special day to welcome you home. When you open your bid cards later this afternoon, some will be ecstatic and some will be disappointed. Here is our hope for those in the second category.

Let it go! Really let go of what could have been and seize upon the possibilities. Some people have a hard time with this and miss out on a great opportunity. Don't be that girl! Get on the bus with the other women who are excited to make this journey. The members chose Y-O-U and are waiting to greet you with open arms (literally) and shower you with love. You will be assigned a bid day sister to help you navigate all the fun.

When you arrive expect cheers, bands, food, pictures, dancing, T-shirts, and more. What a day to be alive!

Over the next several weeks you will attend bid day parties, retreats, tailgate events, socials, PC meetings, big/little reveal, meals at the house, etc. All of these events are designed to help you make friends and feel comfortable. But you have some work to do...go to your new house everyday. Find somebody new to talk too and get to know. I am sure at the end of your pledgeship, if you have made a sincere effort, you will see this was the chapter meant for you all along.

Enjoy your special day, you only get one!

There are so many nice girls at EVERY sorority. You will miss out on some beautiful friendships if you don't take a chance.

Regardless of what people may want you to believe, the essence of sorority life is the friendships between women.

Good luck, I wouldn't trade it for anything!
