why the emphasis?

It seems to me that the tiers are determined by who a sorority is paired with socially.
Why is this an emphasis? Does a sorority - a group of supposedly powerful confident women - need to be defined by which group of men theyre paired with?
And so, you have that HoCo, swap, whatever... Y'all go on with life the next week.
And all you get to brag about is how great a party that was?
Why are the sororities at UF defining themselves, based on the men who choose them?
