can you do well in school pledging?

I want to attend a med school when I graduate so my grades need to be really good but I have heard that pledging will kill your grades. How much time do you have to invest in a fraternity in the fall as a pledge? And can I get straight A's taking 12 credits and pledging? Is that possible?

12 credits isn't a horrible work load but that being said it would be impressive to get a 4.0 but definitely possible.

I pledged a top tier fraternity and got a 3.9 gpa My major is bio. And 12 credits is nothing.
