rising sophomore wanting to rush

by: Geed

Hey guys! I'm a rising sophomore this year and was unable to rush last year but am looking to rush this year; I heard that not that many sophomores receive bids from houses they want or just don't get as many bids at all, is that true?

Plenty of sophomores get bids but it can also be because since they have had a year at the school already they have made friends in sororities their freshman year. I wouldn't say it hurts your chances at getting a bid at all. Just go through recruitment and see how it goes. You may also feel more comfortable during rush because you are already acclimated to Gainesville/the school/student life...etc.

Rushed as a sophomore, ended up at my first choice which is a top house. Just go into it confident- the first year of college gives you a ton of maturity which will shine through compared to a lot of freshman :) also you probably have more of a feel of way you want put of college at this point and what kind of girls you wanna surround yourself with. You'll be fine, most houses won't care at all that you're a sophomore. Peace n blessins.

I dropped out of rush because I did not get my top choice, ADPI. It's worth rushing again if I get a bid this round.

most houses have a specific quota of girls they have to take in each year, no chapter will shut you out because you are a sophomore
