transfer and junior rushing for sorority?
by: ConfusedLucy
To Whom I may Concern:
I am transferring in as a Junior into the Telecommunications Program this fall. I currently work as a Legal and Executive Assistant for a UF alum. She was in Blue Key, SGA and Sorority who states that I should rush because joining a Sorority will look great for Law school.
I have been part of philanthropic organizations like Dining for Women and The Junior League in my area due to my social position as a Doctor's Daughter. I hope those who are reading this understand the implications of what is being said.
My main question is it possible for me to rush as a Junior, Transfer and a Latina?
What Sororities should I hope to have bids for?
Thanks for the help!
Warm Regards,

Not aware of any chapter that will cut you for being a junior, a transfer, or Latina (really?). Being a junior means you'll be competing with other non-freshmen because of upperclassmen quotas. These are more competitive in some sense though, so you'll face harsher cuts because of that. Being a transfer means you might have less connections than a girl who's been at UF and had classes with other sorority women for 2 years, so you'll be at a disadvantage there, too. Race really doesn't matter, you just have to be pretty. So, basically, your rush experience might be a bit harder, but you'll likely still get a house if you're a good PNM
