do other sororities/frats look down upon "lower ti
by: NewI haven't even decided if I'm rushing yet and I'm just trying to understand it still - but I don't even know what it means to be low tier? Are you looked down on by the rest of Greek life? How is it determined?

NO! There will be some girls/guys that have some type of superiority complex because they are in a higher tier than you but there is also other students who feel the same way when they have better grades than you or have more involvement than you. They are the minority in greek life. The majority do not care AT ALL and are just excited to meet someone else in greek life. You won't be turned away from a frat party if you're in a lower tier. I've seen ADPi's and KD's be best friends with Phi Mu's and SK's. Don't worry about it - EVERY house at UF is amazing and easily better than a house at other schools (cough cough FSU)

You're not looked down upon, but people view you differently than if you were in a high tier. This affects who you will hang out with in greek life. Lower tiers don't hang with higher tiers, so again you won't be judged, but it directly impacts the people who you have socials with and the turnout at said socials.

listen i was so worried about this when i rushed that i didn't give certain houses a chance. i'm in a bottom tier and i have friends in mostly every single sorority and am talking to a guy in a top tier fraternity. it doesnt matter AT ALL. people are just happy for me that i've found my people.

Look at what happened with aepi and dz. DZ ultimately chose KA bc theyre higher tier. Your'e not treated with disrespect or anything its just how the greek system is in that if youre higher you have more options and can do stuff with anybody as opposed to being lower
