how important are GPA and involvement for sophomores?

GPA is really not as important as PNMs think. greek life is a glamorized social club. involvement is important though, you should be able to talk about thinks you did your freshman year.

Is any kind of involvement looked at positively? I've gotten involved mostly with engineering clubs and I'm not sure if it would be much help...
