rush

I think there are advantages to both formal rush in fall and spring. With fall you get to jump right in and have more time in your sorority bc you don't have to wait until you are a second semester freshman to join, you get started with gamedays etc. Also, for out of state people or people who are the only one from their school to go to UF (something I know first hand) it gives them a group to instantly plug into. As for it being in spring, it would obviously be much more tolerable weather, and you would have a whole semester to decide if Greek Life is something you really want to pursue/schedule wise if you have the time to dedicate to a sorority, and maybe get a better feel for what the chapters are like outside of a recruitment setting. Personally I lean toward staying in fall and finishing the process before school starts but that's just me.

week before classes start is best. Spring sounds good in theory, but in reality isn't that great. Part of the freshman year fun is jumping into sorority life in the fall. It helps you make friends and adjust to life away from home a lot more easily. Sure, most girls would be fine anyways, but it's nice to have sisters earlier. If not the week before classes, then how Ole Miss does like a month into the semester would be okay. Not spring, though
