Panhellenic formal recruitment is more structured, with rounds and preference events. Both processes typically run in the fall semester, though some chapters recruit in the spring as well.

Housing is part of the picture here. Several fraternities have chapter houses, which naturally become social hubs, especially on weekends. The university's Greek housing situation isn't as sprawling as what you'd see at a large SEC or Big Ten school, but houses do exist and they matter to how the social scene functions.

Philanthropy is taken seriously across chapters here.
