embarrassed of being in a low tier sorority??
by: helpi’m in a lower tier sorority and it feels dumb to be bothered by it but i lowkey am… it drives me nuts to see certain people working hard to improve our reputation and the girls that are the reason we’re at the bottom don’t care and just make us look worse at events and on socials. recruitment kinda sucked for me and i’m really wishing rn that i would’ve dropped instead of ending up in a bottom house where i feel judged and am embarrassed to tell people which sorority i’m in

Honestly, it’s easier said than done but really if you have good friends in your chapter and it’s fun then you shouldn’t care about rank. Nobody outside of Greek life knows or cares about the “ranks” of chapters lol so don’t be embarrassed to wear letters around campus bc nobody else knows. And it varies so much from college to college that after you graduate, nobody will know or care what your “rank” was at your school. It won’t ever matter, it will just matter than you’re an alumni of that chapter. I know it’s probably hard now but as you get older or even just further into college, trust me, you won’t care about it and you shouldn’t.

i’m in one too. it can definitely be discouraging, but the lessons ive learned about disregarding other people’s opinions have been really valuable. plus, now i get to show up to events with my friends and just exist without having to worry about it. if i were you, id look at it as an opportunity to grow and then when you graduate, you get access to a huge national network of connections and experiences.

valid point but i’ve made some friends and it also feels dumb to drop when i’ve already invested quite a bit of money into it
