Curious and unsure

If you have them for pref then they can see you in their chapter and like you however at this point it’s really just a numbers game - how high up their list you are and how many girls are they are allowed to take this cycle. I know a lot of people who only put down one house and get that one. I don’t want to get your hopes up too much though but if you really really cannot see yourself in the other one then don’t put it down. Don’t join a house you wouldn’t like. PHA encourages pnms to give whoever wants them a chance but i personally disagree with that. In regards to fall, you can definitely try informal. The thing is not all houses do it (and they won’t know if they’ll do it until PHA tells them literally not long at all in advance) and most of the girls who do informal have an in already by being referred by one or more actives. I also feel like in many instances it’s way harder to integrate into the chapter when you rush in the fall unless you already have close friends in the chapter before joining. Rushing as a sophomore depends on the house since some houses are really looking for freshmen to fill the house. However, there may be a larger chance you’ll have more connections with houses next year if you have friends joining now. So there is a pro and a con. Hope this helps! I'm a pnm so I'm not 100% sure but I think someone told me that you actually have more of a chance of getting your fav house if you do end up listing all of them rather than just choosing that one house. Could be wrong and can't remember why/how it works though
