this will be a good opportunity for people to stop being so shallow. in 20 years you wont remember if all people you hung out with were the coolest of cool, and by then whats cool now wont be anymore anyways. what youll remember are funny nights with brothers and sisters, and making good friends with people. and as much as i dont like certain chapters and wouldnt previously have wanted to be paired with them, you cant tell me that theres not a single person in each worth being good friends with. so get off your high horse

I'm all for not caring what "tiers" are because it's true, I will not care when I graduate who we were with for events. However, I have experienced terrible pairings and had no fun for that week's event. Doesn't it make much more sense to pair up with fraternities you know you get along with and have fun with? So it does matter. I will look back on events like GW and remember how awful it was. So eff you Greek Programming board for ruining Greek life.

^Couldn't agree more. The small chapters ruined it for everyone because they're mad they couldn't have fun during these events. If it was such a problem and you had to vote for random pairings then you probably should have joined somewhere else. If you couldn't find anywhere then greek life is not for you...

Actually every fraternity chapter president voted in favor of the change, and only a couple sorority chapter presidents voted against it, the vast majority voting in favor. There are awesome people in every chapter, I think Greek life will probably benefit from this in the long run.

There were 12 chapters that voted against and most of those are the ones that actually do anything with the pairings, stop acting like this will work. You're probably in some irrelevant frat that snitches on anyone that likes to have fun.

The big university events like greek week and homecoming are going to be ruined because as a whole the personalities won't mix and no one will want to do anything with a pairing they don't like. It may be sad but it's true, people don't have social stuff with each other for a reason, so how would forcing pairings help the cause?
