greekrank ruin greek life

by: Guest

I came here not knowing anybody and wanted to rush several fraternities that I was told had good reputations. I ended up following my buddies elsewhere and have been ambivalent since. I don't hate my house, more so the way I am treated as a member. In essence, if I were not a member of this house I feel as though I would have more opportunities to meet people because of the connotation my letters bring. As a result I don't advertise my letters but I have had several people quit talking to me or never treat me the same once they discover my fraternity.

I fail to see why people at this school judge a person so critically by what greek group they are in. Sure stereotypes were created for a reason, but we are all grown individuals and I'm done being treated as less than other people who at the end of the day are my equal: a person.

So my question is, in absence of greekrank, do you think people would be less judgemental, more friendly and treat others better if ranks/tiers or "reputations/personalities" weren't a click away?

I do think people would worry less about what house they are in if there wasn't any greekrank. It's just really depressing to hear people who are out of high school acting the way they do towards others. I'm proud of the schools that I see on greekrank that aren't full of all this garbage.
