2.5 minimum gpa requirement

How important is the 2.5 minimum GPA requirement, I have a 2.2 due to taking rigorous courses first semester. Will I still be able to join any fraternity?

the school literally doesnt let you rush with below a 2.5. how does one get a 2.2 freshman year?
